What is tDOT?

tDOT is simply - the better way to hold DOT. It’s a synthetic asset backed by a liquidity pool consisting of native DOT, and LDOT - Acala’s liquid staked DOT derivative. As a result, you not only receive the inherent underlying staking yield, but also the fees generated by the pool to achieve some of the best rewards in the DOT ecosystem.
Is tDOT safe?

Why can't I see my rewards?
tDOT’s rewards are paid out weekly and must be claimed manually, which can be done by going to “Assets” page within the Tapio dApp and clicking on “Claim Rewards” to see how much is available.
How does tDOT work?
You’re able to mint tDOT by providing either DOT or LDOT (or both) to the tDOT pool. Once minted, you only need to hold it and you’ll be earning rewards every week.
Should I mint tDOT with DOT or LDOT?
You can choose either or both, with no impact on your tDOT - you’ll receive an equal amount of tDOT to the value of DOT you’ve deposited i.e. depositing 5 DOT will mint you 5~ tDOT.
Is there a lockup period?
There is no lockup period - you’re able to redeem your tDOT and withdraw DOT/LDOT at any time.
